What? UNITE HERE Local 8 is Seattle’s hospitality workers’ union. We are recruiting for a 4-week campaign workshop and volunteer opportunity. We will work on different aspects of union campaigs and work with the union’s campaign and research team to fight alongside workers campaigning for better pay and benefits, and the right to organize a union.

Time Commitment? We are asking for a commitment of a minimum of 8 hours per week for four weeks.

There will be four (4) workshops on the following dates:

Thursday, June 19th, 5:30pm-8:30pm

Thursday, June 26thth, 5:30pm-8:30pm

Wednesday, July 2nd, 5:30pm-8:30pm

Thursday, July 10thth, 5:30pm-8:30pm

In addition to the workshops, there will be opportunities to participate in ongoing campaigns. Those may include delegations, phone banks, research assignments, worker and community meetings, lobbying of elected officials, etc.

Where? Workshops will be at the UNITE HERE Local 8 SODO offices in Seattle (5030 1st Ave. S, Suite 201) and campaign work will take place all over the Puget Sound region.
